  • Sword in three main pieces; overall length, 920 mm (approx). Remains of a wooden scabbard are preserved on the blade, including a tape binding extending about 150 mm round the upper end of it. The blade is parallel-sided and pointed (width, 52 mm at the top and 50 mm towards the point), but the scabbard remains obscure any fuller that may be present. No guards survive, so would have been organic, but their edges are left visible in the mineral-replaced organics on the tang; depths, 11 mm (upper guard) and 12 mm (lower guard). The pommel is a low, narrow, convex-topped bar with round ends; length, 53 mm; width 10 mm; height, 9 mm; and the grip is 93 mm long.
