  • An incomplete iron-bound wooden bucket, of which only the iron framework now survives. It consists of three iron bands, as well as two escutcheons. The lowest band is narrow (12mm wide) and rectangular in section. It is undecorated, with no additional fittings. Above it lay a second band of the same type and size, with good survival of wood on its inner surface. The upper band is broader (30-33mm wide) and more substantial. It includes two escutcheons, set opposite to each other, with closed iron loops at the apex, facing across the bucket and enclosing heavy iron suspension rings. The escutcheons are riveted to the upper band and taper to a rounded end, which is thickened to a rectangular section, and acts as a nail, directed into the surface of the wood.
