Survives in two pieces, with a box handle accreted to its lower part. Cleft socket of circular section with three iron rings attached to it. Each ring is a plain band of 16mm in width, the upper one set slightly obliquely on the socket. Each ring extends only part of the way around the socket and does not go over the cleft area. Socket tapers lightly with long section of solid shank beyond, also of circular cross-section. Shank tapers lightly from 14 to 7mm at the head. Narrow, lightly flared barbs of rectangular section curved from the head, which tapers to a rounded point of circular section. Accreted sand attached throughout; no trace of any organic remains.
