  • Cleft socket of circular section with abundant wood remains along most of socket. Socket tapers to very short length of solid shank, blade widening in concave curves to either side. Widest point of blade at apex of curves. Blade tapers thereafter steadily to broad, rounded point, with tip missing. Flat lentoid section to blade. Slight sand accretion with traces of bone on the underside, possibly rodent bone and certainly not human. Wood remains on both sides of blade at tip with grain running along its length; no other organic remains.
